A milestone was reached in the history of communication and media practice in Nigeria with the successful planning and hosting of The Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) Inaugural Conference held between Wednesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Reiz Continental, Central Business District, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria.
The conference tagged “Communication, Diversity and Multiculturalism in Nigeria: Challenges in the 21st Century”, was chaired by the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria [FRCN], Dr. Ladan Salihu and the opening keynote address on “Bridging the Gap between Town and Gown” delivered by His Excellency, the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, represented by the Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspaper, Mr. Eric Osagie.
